HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/13/93CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION September 13, 1993 6:15 p.m. Large Conference Room Roll call: Mayor Manning, Buck, Lemke, Wright, Budak, and Dell. Members absent: Fox and Angel. Bob Stevenson, City Planner, stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed residential satisfaction survey that has been developed in conjunction with the Image Committee of the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce. Patterned after the City of Ames, this survey will be sent to 1500 residents in the community equally representing each of the city's five wards. This survey will provide specific input for city staff and policy makers as to the citizen's level of satisfaction with all city services. Budak now present at 6:20 p.m. This annual survey would be a useful tool in determining budget priorities and could be used as a gage if repeated yearly. Council members reviewed the context of this survey and suggested that golf be added to recreational opportunities. It was also suggested that the ethnicity of the survey respondent be added to the personal and social characteristics. Mark Winninger, Co-chair of the Image Committee, council's support of this action and stated that he city staff time spent in developing this survey.
