The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Special Session at
City Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa at 4:00 p.m. on November
28, 1984. Mayor Pro -Tem Dowie in the Chair. Roll call: Getty,
Lichty, Klinger, Dowie, Wright, Seeber. Absent: Penaluna.
86768 - Moved by Klinger, seconded by Wright
to receive and place on file copies of the call.
Motion carried.
It was noted by Councilman Getty that there was an error in the
amount on the Call. The amount typed was $2,000,000 instead of
$10,000,000. It was clarified by the Clerk/Auditor's Office that it
was a typographical error.

to receive and place on file the call, as corrected and posted.
Motion carried.
86770 - Moved by Seeber, seconded by Klinger
that the Agenda, as proposed for the Special Session of November 28,
1984, at 4:00 p.m., be accepted and approved.
Motion carried.
86771 - Moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger
that 'Resolution authorizing the execution of a Memorandum of
Agreement by and between the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and Majestic
Leasing, Inc., regarding the Issuance of Industrial Development
Revenue Bonds", be adopted. Ayes: Six. Absent: Penaluna.
Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor Pro -Tem assigned No.
1984-547.
86772 - Moved by Getty, seconded by Seeber
that "Resolution fixing a date of hearing as December 17, 1984, at
7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers on proposed Industrial
Development Revenue Bonds, Series 1984, Majestic Leasing, Inc., not
to exceed $10,000,000", be adopted and Clerk/Auditor instructed to
publish notice of hearing accordingly. Ayes: Six. Absent: Penaluna.
Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor Pro -Tem assigned No.
1984-548.
Discussion was heard from Mr. Don Gottchalk, Counsel for Richard
VanArsdale, concerning the purchase of Rath Packing. Mr. VanArsdale
has been working on the purchase of Rath for the past 13 - 14 months
and the reason for the special meeting is because of the bankruptcy
proceedings going on in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids
concerning Rath Packing.
Mr. VanArsdale will present more detailed information and exhibits at
the public hearing.
Mr. Chuck Mueller, representing Local 146, spoke in support of the
purchase of Rath.
