Mayor Bowers in the Chair. Roll call: Getty, Lichty, Penaluna, Klinger, Dowie and Wright. Absent: Seeber. Invocation by: Klinger. 86284 - Moved by Dowie, seconded by Lichty that the Agenda, as amended for the Regular Session of August 20, 1984, at 7:00 p.m., be accepted and approved. Motion carried. 86285 - Moved by Klinger, seconded by Lichty that the Minutes of the Regular Session held August 13 .1984 -at 7:00 p.m., be approved. Motion carried. HEARINGS 86286 - Moved by Dowie, seconded by Klinger that proof of publication of notice of public hearing of Waterloo Cablevision for increase in basic service as published in the Waterloo Courier on August 10 and August 17, 1984 be received and placed on file. Motion carried. 86287 - HOLD HEARING --This being the time and place for public hearing the Mayor called for written and oral objections and there were none. Moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that recommendation of Cable Commission be received and placed on file. Motion carried. 86288 - Moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie that 'Resolution authorizing rate increase as proposed by Cable Commission", be adopted. Ayes: Six. Absent: Seeber. Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor assigned No. 1984-379. ORAL PRESENTATIONS 86289 - Rick Cleaver, 1940 Ansborough Avenue, opposed the widening of Ansborough Avenue from two to four lanes from U.S. Highway 218 to W. Ridgeway Avenue. He opposed it for the following reasons: destroys residential character of the neighborhood, increase in track ark, noise pollution, danger to children in the neighborhood cross-, rig a f, -lane road, and reduces property values. He suggested that the H--,ckett Road alternate be investigated. Pat Tatum, 1934 Ansborough Avenue, opposed the widening of Ansborough Avenue, Phase II. She asked those present opposing the traject to stand. She stated that she did not oppose the project from U.S. Highway 63 to U.S. Highway 218. She asked that the money be reprogrammed for repair of City streets. Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor assigned No. 1984-395., ORDINANCES TO BE ADOPTED 86308 - Moved by Wright, seconded by Lichty that "Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2644, known as the Traffic Code, by repealing the heading and subsection (a) of Section 352, City Lots A, B, C, and D Parking, and enacting in lieu thereof a new heading and subsection (A) of Section 352; and by repealing Section 558A, 30 minute parking behind City Hall, and enacting in lieu thereof a New Section 558A, 30 minute parking behind City Hall be received, filed, considered and passed for the first time.
