The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Regular Session at
City Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa at 7:00 p.m. on August 13,
1984. Mayor Bowers in the Chair. Roll call: Getty, Lichty,
Penaluna, Klinger, Seeber, Dowie, Wright
Invocation by Getty.

that the Agenda, as proposed for the Regular Session of August 13,
1984, at 7:00 p.m., be accepted and approved.

that the Minutes of the Regular Session held August 6, 1984,
7:00 p.m., be approved.

that proof of publication of notice of public hearing on plans,
specifications, etc. and the taking of bids for the F.Y. 1985 Maywood
Storm Sewer Improvements, Area 3 Outlet, Contract No. 276 as
published in the Waterloo Courier on July 27, 1984 be received and
placed on file.

Mayor called for written and oral objections and there were none.

that 'Resolution ordering construction for the F.Y. 1985 Maywood

ORAL PRESENTATIONS
86256 - Bob Larson, 506 W. 6th Street, asked that the City enforce the 1 hour
parking restriction on W. 6th Street. Enforcement through the Police
Department has been unsuccessful. He also asked for uniform
enforcement of private person's use of the "parking area".

that the above remarks be received, placed on file, and referred to
the Police Department.

86257 - Doris Nothnagel, 2115 Skyline Drive, objected to the lifting of the
truck embargo on W. 4th Street, south of Highway 412. She also asked
whether the embargo on the bridge (Prescott's Creek) had also been
lifted.
Mayor Bowers stated that the Council had approved the lifting of the
embargo. (Resolution No. 1984-360) on August 6, 1984.
Councilperson Wright, reported that the Building & Grounds Committee
had approved the parking lot design behind City Hall for city
employee parking and that the plan would become effective Tuesday,
August 14, 1984.

86259 - Clerk/Auditor Larry P. Burger reported that the applicant would not
be running the business from the 2545 Burton Avenue location, but
would be dispatching from Answer Iowa, Inc. Also, the applicant has
submitted a certificate of insurance in excess of the ordinance
requirements.

that application from Mini Cab Company to operate a taxi service in
the City of Waterloo be received, placed on file, approved, and
Clerk/Auditor instructed to issue a license accordingly.

Revitalization Area Revenue Bonds ($6.5 million)", be adopted.
