HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/30/83W June 30, 1983 The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Special Session at City Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa at 3:45 p.m. on June 30, 1983. Mayor Rooff in the Chair. Roll call: Getty, Wilharm, Dowie, Burton, Bowers. Absent: Roehr and Penaluna. 84236 - Moved by Wilharm, seconded by Burton that the call for the Special Meeting of June 30, 1983 be received and placed on file. Motion carried. 84237 - City Attorney Tyler explained that the purpose for adopting this resolution was to clarify the levy of taxes for property within the Self -Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID). (see Ordinance 3279 authorizing levy at the rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of valuation). Moved by Dowie, seconded by Wilharm that "Resolution authorizing certification to the County Auditor for qualified taxes within the Self -Supported Municipal Improvement District", be adopted. Ayes: Five. Absent: Penaluna & Roehr. Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor assigned No. 1983-256. 84238 - Mayor Rooff asked for informal approval for purchase of a metal building currently owned by the Iowa Department of Transportation generally located north of Mitchell Avenue and east of LaPorte Road, for use by the Water Pollution/Sewer Department. The cost will be $1,000 with additional costs for the relocation and renovation. There were no objections to the purchase. Bids will be sought for relocation.
