HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes-10/21/1996COUNCIL WORK SESSION October 21, 1996 5:45 p.m. Large Conference Room Members present: Mayor Rooff, Getty, Krizek, Murphy, Anders, Mollenhoff, Jordan. Members absent: Collier. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Murphy that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Five. Absent: Collier, Jordan. Motion carried. The council reviewed the three year overlay program developed by the Engineering Department. Councilperson Anders reviewed Ward 3. He stated that Falls Avenue from 175' W. Ansborough to Stephan is in the FY 1997 Program and FY 1999 Program and would like it to remain in 1997 Program. Coachman Drive from the west end to Carriage Hill is in the FY 1999 Program and was completed this summer. Councilperson Jordan now present at 5:50 p.m. Cardinal Drive is in FY 1998 and Councilperson Anders would like to move it to FY 1997. He would like Maxine Avenue moved to FY 1998 and have Cardinal Drive moved to FY 1997. Park Road from Fairview to 1375' west has been completed and needs to be removed from FY 1998 Program. Carriage Hill from Coachman to Stephan is in the FY 1998 Program at a cost of $141,000 and he would like that moved to FY 1997 Program. Councilperson Anders has a few more streets he would like to move and will work with the City Engineer. Councilperson Murphy addressed Ward 1. He would like Brynbrae Street from Ansborough to West 4th Street included in FY 1997 and asked that the City Engineer put together the numbers and let him know the cost for that improvement. Councilperson Murphy stated that he would like Hollywood sealcoated again next year. Jordan reviewed Ward 2. San Marnan frontage road from Kimball Avenue to King Drive is included in the FY 1997 Program at a cost of $131,000 and he is considering removing that street so that more lower costing streets can be included in the program. Since Councilperson Collier was absent, Councilperson Getty addressed Ward 4. He stated that Donald Street from Virden Creek to Sage Road at a cost of $298,000 needs to remain in the FY 1997 Program and that he has had a number of calls on that street. Ward 4 has mostly sealcoating in the FY 1998 and FY 1999 Program. Councilperson Anders noted that Ward 4 has Parker Street from Reed Street to Mullan Avenue in the FY 1997 Program. Ward 3 has West Parker Road from Broadway to Reed in the FY 1998 Program and Councilperson Anders would like to move that street to FY 1997. Councilperson Krizek stated that she has seven streets left to evaluate and will get back to the City Engineer. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the meeting be adjourned at 6:13 p.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Collier. Motion carried. Susan Fangman City Clerk
