COUNCIL WORK SESSION
December 8, 1997

Members present: Getty, Jordan, Krizek, Anders, Collier,
Mollenhoff.
Members absent: Murphy.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Collier that the Agenda, as proposed,
be approved_ Ayes: Six. Absent: Murphy. Motion carried.
The street improvements lists for F.Y. 1998 was reviewed. The
lists include the Seal Coat Program, a Three Year Overlay Program
(1998-2000) and a Six Year Reconstruction Program (1998-2003).
City Engineer Eric Thorson proposed that the city spend the funds
budgeted for the following arterial improvements:
1998 Overlay Orange Road from Hawkeye Road (Highway 21)
to LaPorte Road (Highway 218)
Overlay Franklin Street form East 7th Street to
Nevada Street
1999 Overlay Dubuque Road from Nevada Street to East
City Limits
2000 Overlay sections of San Martian Drive from LaPorte
Road to West 4th Street
The overlay of Orange Road will require participation from Black
Hawk County. If the County must delay their overlay of Orange Road
due to funding availability, the 1998 and 1999 year projects would
need to be switched.
Moved by Krizek, seconded by Mollenhoff that the FY 1998 Street
Improvements Lists be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Murphy.
Motion carried.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty,
seconded by Krizek that the meeting be adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
Ayes: Six. Absent: Murphy. Motion carried.
