October 27, 1997

Members present: Mayor Rooff, Getty, Krizek, Murphy, Anders,
Collier, Mollenhoff, Jordan.
Also present: Reed Craft, General Manager of Waterloo Water Works.
Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Jordan. Motion
carried.
The connection of water service to Waterloo Tent & Tarp at MidPort
Development was discussed. According to the development agreement,
water service would be extended to Waterloo Tent & Tarp, and the
business would be responsible for the cost of connecting to the
water main.
Jordan now present at 6:50 p.m.
The item on tonight's agenda to set the date of hearing for
November 17, 1997 on the calendar year 1998 budget for the Water
Works was reviewed. Council questioned the need for the Water
Works to increase the fee for water service by 6.6 percent. The
Board of Trustees for the Water Works has passed the budget with
the increase. Council asked that the item be removed from the
agenda to allow for time to discuss the rate increase with the
Water Works Board.
Tile council's schedule for the week was reviewed.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by
itrizek, seconded by Mollenhoff that the meeting be adjourned at
59 p.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
