RESOLUTION NO. 2018-174
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST OF ADVANCED
HEAT TREAT CORPORATION FOR INDUSTRIAL
PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE EXPANSION OF
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2825 MIDPORT BOULEVARD
AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, Advanced Heat Treat Corporation has submitted an application dated March
19, 2018 to the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, requesting to receive industrial
property tax exemptions for renovation and expansion of a commercial building, for the property
located at 2825 Midport Boulevard and legally described as follows:
THAT PART OF TRACT "B", MIDPORT AMERICA PARK PLAT NO. 1,
CITY OF WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA, LYING NORTH
OF A LINE WHICH BEGINS AT A POINT ON THE EAST LINE OF ROAD
TRACT "B" AT A POINT WHICH IS FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY (420.0)
FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID TRACT "B",
THENCE N90000'00"W SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY (790.0) FEET TO THE
WEST LINE OF SAID TRACT "B" AND POINT OF TERMINATION,
and,
WHEREAS, the Planning, Programming, and Zoning Commission staff has reviewed the
application and feels that the renovations qualify for exemptions from taxes on the actual value
added to the Industrial property under the Industrial Property Tax Exemption requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that said application of Advanced Heat Treat Corporation is hereby
approved and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to forward said application, and a copy of
this resolution to the Black Hawk County Assessor.
