RESOLUTI N APPROVING REQUEST OF THE SCREAMING
EAGLE A RICAN BAR & GRILL, 228 EAST 4TH STREET,
TO CLOSE THE 600 BLOCK OF LAFAYETTE STREET
EVERY T URSDAY BETWEEN MAY 3, 2018 AND
OCTOBER 5, 2018 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 11:00 P.M., WITH
USE OF CI Y BARRICADES, AND FOR A VARIANCE TO
THE NOIS ORDINANCE INCLUDING A BAND AND THE
USE OF A P SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Scre ing Eagle American Bar & Grill, 228 East 4t' Street, is requesting a
variance to the Noise Ordin ce and permission to close a portion of Lafayette Street between 4t'
and 5h Streets, every Thurs y between May 3,2018 and October 25, 2018 from 5:00 p.m.to 11:00
p.m. in conjunction with Bi e Night event, including a PA system and band, and
WHEREAS, said ev nt will exceed the limits of the Noise Ordinance, Ordinance No. 3094,
and
WHEREAS, said S reaming Eagle American Bar & Grill, 228 East 4t' Street, has made
formal application for a v ce every Thursday between May 3, 2018 and October 25, 2018 from
5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,tog ther with recommendation of approval of Director of Safety Services.
NOW, THEREFO , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Screaming Eagle American Bar & Grill, 228 East 4t'
Street, for a variance to Ord nance No. 3094,Noise Ordinance, and permission to close a portion of
Lafayette Street between 4t' and 5t' Streets, every Thursday between May 3, 2018 and October 25,
2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 11: 0 p.m. in conjunction with Bike Night event, including a PA system
and band,be and the same h reby granted.
