AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2007 CODE OF
ORDNANC S OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY
AMENDING CHAPTER 3, ELECTRICAL REGULATIONS OF
TITLE 9, BUILDING REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDANEDY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA AS FOLLOWS:
That Section 6,Nati al Electric Code Amendments, of Chapter 3, Electrical Regulations
of Title 9, Building Regulati ns, of the 2007 Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
is hereby amended by deleting the following:
A. Amendments to 2017 NEC Chapter 2 Amendments:
1. 210.8(A)( ) Add the following exceptions to section 210.8, paragraph (A),
subparagraph(2):
a. E ception No.l to (2): Receptacles not readily accessible.
b. E ception No.2 to (2): A single receptacle or a duplex receptacle for
t o appliances located within dedicated space for each appliance that,
i normal use, is not easily moved from one place to another and that

cord-and-plug connected in accordance with 400.7(A)(6), (A)(7),
Ir(A)(8).
c. Receptacles installed under the exceptions to 210.8(A)(2) shall not be
considered as meeting the requirements of 210.52(G). Where readily
accessible,receptacle shall be labeled as being non-GFCI".

a. Exception No.2 to (5): Receptacles that are not readily accessible.
b. Exception No. 3 to (5): A single receptacle or a duplex receptacle for

is cord-and-plug connected in accordance with 400.7(A)(6),(A)(7), or
