Dual Parallel "in-line" dump cylinders. Reduces twisting of bucket. Power cycle on breakout, speed cycle on dump. Fully retracted cylinders when loader/bucket braced for backhoe work - more stable, less strain. 2. Mechanical Dump Stop. Dump "hit" occurs on mechanical hard -stop rather than on cylinder max -point. 3. Large forward loader cross -member. Comes all the way through, and is welded on both inside & outside. This - when combined with points 1, 2, and 4 - provides for a VERY STRONG and durable loader system. 4. Pivot -point loader mounting pin extends all the way through to both sides. 5. Steering cylinder and tie -rods are protect -mounted behind the axle. 6. Curved cab glass cab provides tremendous strength and eliminates glare. 7. Floating pins & bushings provide even wear and dramatically extend life. Case uses 22 floating pins & bushings on their Backhoe products. 8. Over -center Backhoe stowage. Transfers weight of backhoe toward front, creating more stable travel and loader work. Line represents pin -center. Also.,. Pro -Control - feathers the side-to-side movement of backhoe bucket. Eliminates boom rebound. Comfort -Steer - requires half as much wheel movement for steering, Forward & mar sick windows open and lock for ventilation and communication on all sides. 9. All fuel, fluids, and service -points are accessible from the ground level - no climbing on the machine for common fueling or servicing tasks. Time, Effort, and Safety consideration. Bruce Rempe, Field Marketer, Titan Machinery, Center Point, IA bruce.rempe©titanmachinery.com, 319-213-4120 texts are welcome Bid specifications for a 2017 or newer John Deere 410L, Caterpillar 430F, or Case 590SN Backhoe Loader CASE Areb N Cr= Waterloo Request for Bid - Backhoe 2018 Compliance Consideration All machines are different. It is impossible to directly compare any two machines - even from the same company. The differences are much greater when you consider machines from different companies. As you would expect, the CASE backhoe is not identical to the one specified in your specifications. In many cases CASE matches or exceeds. But, in others CASE simply does things differently, and in others there is a distinction without relevance. For example, the CASE engine provides more HP, torque rise, and torque, but is 30% smaller in terms of displacement (stroke and bore). Since your specification lists all three of these elements (displacement, stroke, and bore) as separate items, that creates a lot of non-compliance. But, these items are of no relevance once the engine's performance exceeds the reference model. CASE exceeds the engine performance utilizing fewer resources and offering higher efficiencies. Similar differences exist in other areas as well. Compliance Markings Guide Yes No Complete compliance Yes No Compliant with comments/considerations Yes No Likely Compliant - or not relevant based on other specs Yes No Not directly compliant, but probably acceptable Yes No Not compliant. Case does not pursue this element. Comments are included in each item highlighted in yellow. Compliance Consideration - City of Waterloo Backhoe Purchase - April 2018 - Page 1 Bid specifications for a 2017 or newer John Deere 410L, Caterpillar 430F, or Case 590SN Backhoe Loader 10 yes no Engine shall have a serpentine belt with automatic belt tensioner reducing required maintenance " yes no Under -hood engine air cleaner shall be dry type, dual element with evacuator valve, restriction sensor and in -cab restriction warning light Air cleaner is aspirated which provides better performance than a passive evacuator valve. 12. yes no The backhoe shall have a one-piece tilt hood for easy engine access without having to remove engine side shields The CASE hood tilts fully vertical allowing expansive access to the engine compartment. Competitive machines utilize a single center -mounted dump cylinder which physically limits the tip -forward movement of the hood. 13. yes no Engine shall have no more than 30 -micron rated primary fuel filter with water separator CASE filters meet/exceed the requirements of the manufacturer. Actual micron level of the filter is not published. 14. yes no Engine shall have no more than 2 -micron rated secondary fuel filter CASE filters meet/exceed the requirements of the manufacturer. Actual micron level of the filter is not published. 15. yes no Engine bore shall be a minimum 4.19 inches (106.5 mm) CASE FPT engines produce higher HP and torque output per cubic displacement over the competitive brands. This higher -efficiency model dictates that Case FPT engines have smaller stroke and bore than other engines within the similar output range. 16. yes no Engine stroke shall be a minimum 5 inches (127 mm) CASE FPT engines produce higher HP and torque output per cubic displacement over the competitive brands. Additional hydraulic power is channeled directly to the backhoe, giving the N Series strength comparable to an 8 -ton excavator and greater precision when craning. 'Not available on 580N EP and 580N BENEFIT OF OVER -CENTER DESIGN Our revolutionary over -center backhoe design locks the boom in toward the machine, transferring at least 15% of its weight to the front axle, which drastically improves stability to minimize "porpoising" during roading. You'll retain more material and comfortably travel up to 24 mph to, from and around the site. AUTO -RIDE CONTROL"' CASE Auto -Ride Control is a spill -reducing feature engineered into our 4WD backhoe loaders. This highlight automatically reduces loader arm bounce at elevated speeds and features Industry-leading adjustable speed settings, giving operators full control of their Toad retention as well as their comfort. LOW -TO -NO MAINTENANCE TIER 4 FINAL SOLUTIONS All N Series backhoe loaders make it easy to meet emissions regulations. The 580N EP uses a maintenance -free Diesel Oxidation Catalyst that has no filter to replace, no regeneration and no DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) to add - just get in and go. The rest of the N -Series lineup uses an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) after -treatment system. Without the need to regenerate, you don't have to worry about downtime or burning additional fuel. The system lets the engine run at peak performance for maximum power and better fuel efficiency. Just top off the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) when refueling and you're ready to go. DIG DEEPER, REACH FURTHER, LOAD FASTER Every element of the CASE loader is designed for greater productivity. Longer arms make it easier to load in the center of a truck, a mechanical stopper allows for metal - to -metal impact on full dump to shake out material and our in-line parallel linkage with a solid thru-pin design — another industry first — helps balance uneven loads. 7 This machine is equipped with a Universal Coupler. 1 :r+ • .
