HomeMy WebLinkAboutIowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity-FY 2018 Street Reconstruction Program, Contract No. 944CITY OF WATERLOO F.Y. 2018 STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM, CONTRACT No. 944 AGREEMENT NOW on this ° day of 1 , 2018, the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity and the City of Waterloo, Iowa, enter into this Agreement for and in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises contained herein and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged. I. RECITALS WHEREAS, the street reconstruction and sanitary sewer extensions are to be constructed in the same corridors (Refer to E. AREA COVERED) in which the parties have some interest, are proposed to be constructed in calendar year 2018; and WHEREAS, the parties presently have varying degrees of responsibilities for the reconstruction of various streets in the F.Y. 2018 Street Reconstruction Program, Contract No. 944 and the replacement and extension of the existing sanitary sewer main in the street listed below in E. AREA COVERED; and WHEREAS, the parties believe that the payments to be made to the contractor would best be handled by the City of Waterloo. NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: II. TERMS OF AGREEMENT A. PURPOSE. Refer to Recitals. B. JURISDICTION. The jurisdiction for responsibility for design, inspection and funding shall be: City of Waterloo — street and sanitary sewer reconstruction, and associated items, in the 1600 block of W. 6tn Street, except as follows; Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity — funding only for work involving the sanitary sewer extension in the 1600 block of W. 6th Street to serve lots 7 and 8 in Irving Square Addition C. FINANCING. Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity and the City of Waterloo shall share the costs for the Project according to the following: 1. Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity shall pay for the entire construction cost of the sanitary sewer extension in the 1600 block of W. 6th Street to serve lots 7 and 8 in Irving Square Addition 11Page a. Estimated Total Construction Cost for Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is as follows: i. Remove Existing Storm Pipe Less Than or Equal to 36" 110 LF @ $12.50/ LF ii. Reconstruct Sanitary Sewer, 8" 110 LF @ $70.00/ LF iii. Standard Sanitary Manhole, SW -301, 48" 1 Each @ $4,300 Each iv. Sanitary Sewer Service, 6" 36 LF @ $43.20/LF Estimated Total Cost = $1,375.00 = $7,700.00 = $4,300.00 = $1,555.20 $14,930.20 Note: Actual cost to be determined by field measurements at the above unit prices for each item. The City of Waterloo shall pay for the entire cost of reconstruction of the 1600 block of W. 6th Street, except as noted in #1 above. 3. The City of Waterloo shall be responsible for administering the payments to the contractor, to bill Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity and Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity shall make payment within fifteen (15) days of said billing. 4. Financing for this Project shall be the responsibility of each of the parties hereto as reflected in this Agreement. D. ADMINISTRATION OF AGREEMENT. The City of Waterloo shall prepare plans and specifications and include them in the contract. The City of Waterloo shall follow the current City bidding procedures for the project and administer the letting phase of this project. The construction phase of this project shall be administered with City of Waterloo. Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity shall be notified of all meetings involving said Project and shall have the right of review and acceptance for each of the following phases: 1. Bid Award Approval; 2. Final Construction Approval. E. AREA COVERED. The area covered by this Agreement shall be: a. 1600 block of W. 6th Street — from Byron Avenue to Hawthorne Avenue F. DURATION. This Agreement shall be in effect until completion of the construction or termination by written agreement of all parties. 2IPage DATED this 1114-- day of Oft , 2018.
