RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST OF THE CEDAR
VALLEY IRISH FEST CULTURAL ASSOCIATION TO HOLD
THE 12TH ANNUAL IOWA IRISH FEST EVENT FROM
AUGUST 3-5, 2018, IN AND AROUND LINCOLN PARK AND
SURROUNDING STREETS TO INCLUDE A NOISE
VARIANCE FOR THE DURATION OF THE FESTIVAL, TO
INCLUDE A 5K RUN ON AUGUST 4, 2018 FROM 6:30 A.M.
TO 10:15 A.M. ON THE DOWNTOWN STREETS.
WHEREAS, the Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association has made written application to
the City Council asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold the 12th Annual Iowa Irish
Fest event on August 3-5, 2018, together with the approval of the Police Captain, and
WHEREAS, said event will be held at Lincoln Park to include the set up and tear down
on July 30th through August 7th including closing the following streets: Park Avenue closed from
Mulberry Street to Franklin Street starting Wednesday August 1st 7 a.m. thru Monday August 6th,
2:00 p.m. Access to and from the Parking ramp will still be open. 4th Street from Franklin Street,
(Franklin NOT closed), to Lafayette Street, starting on Thursday, August 2nd at 7a.m. thru
Sunday August 5th. Mulberry Street from 3rd Street to 5th Street starting Thursday, August 2nd at
7 a.m. thru Sunday, August 5th. Mulberry Street from Park Avenue to 3rd Street will reopen
Monday by 11:00 a.m. Mulberry from E. 4th Street to E. 5th Street will reopen Monday by 11:00
a.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of the Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association to hold the
l lth Annual Iowa Irish Fest on August 3 through August 5, 2018 at Lincoln Park, to include the
set up and tear down on July 30th through August 7th, including closing the following streets:
Park Avenue closed from Mulberry Street to Franklin Street starting Wednesday, Aug 1st 7 a.m.
thru Monday August 6th, 2:00 p.m. Access to and from the Parking ramp will still be open. 4th
Street from Franklin Street, (Franklin NOT closed), to Lafayette Street, startin on Thursday,
August 2nd at 7a.m. thru Sunday August 5th. Mulberry Street from 3rd Street to 5t Street starting
Thursday, August 2nd at 7 a.m. thru Sunday, August 5th. Mulberry Street from Park Avenue to
3rd Street will reopen Monday by 11:00 a.m. Mulberry from E. 4th Street to E. 5th Street will
reopen Monday by 11:00 a.m., is hereby approved.
