RESOLUTION NO. 2018-370
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO SPAHN &
ROSE LUMBER COMPANY OF JESUP, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $125,860, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
PURCHASE AND CONSTRUCTION OF A 60 FT. BY 80 FT.
POLE BUILDING AT THE CITY'S YARD WASTE SITE,AND
APPROVING CONTRACT, BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF
INSURANCE, AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Spahn & Rose Lumber Company of Jesup, Iowa submitted a bid in the
amount of $125,860, and is the apparent low bidder in conjunction with the purchase and
construction of a 60 ft. by 80 ft. pole building at the City's Yard Waste Site, and
WHEREAS, Spahn & Rose Lumber Company submitted a written contract, per the
specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with Resolution No. 2018-281,
after public hearing on April 30, 2018, in conjunction with the purchase and construction of a 60
ft. by 80 ft. pole building at the City's Yard Waste Site.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Spahn & Rose Lumber Company in the amount of $125,180, in
conjunction with the purchase of and construction of a 60 ft. by 80 ft. pole building at the City's
Yard Waste Site, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract submitted by Spahn & Rose Lumber Company, in conjunction
with the purchase of and construction of a 60 ft. by 80 ft. pole building at the City's Yard Waste
Site, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of May 2018.
