RESOLUTION NO. 2018-425 REQUEST FROM FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE TO HOLD THE RACE TO REMEMBER 5K EVENT JULY 21, 2018, STARTING AT 9:00 A.M., ON AND AROUND THE FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE CAMPUS, SIDEWALKS AND SIDE STREETS, WITH BARRICADES ON SOUTHBROOKE DRIVE, RUDI PLACE, SARATOGA DRIVE, CRESTLINE AVENUE, FAIRLANE AVENUE,PARK LANE AND FRIENDSHIP LANE. WHEREAS, Friendship Village made a written application to the City Council asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold the Race to Remember 5K event on July 21, 2018, traveling on and around the Friendship Village campus, sidewalks and side streets, together with the approval of the Director of Safety Services, and WHEREAS, said event will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the route commencing and concluding at Friendship Village with barricades for traffic control on Southbrooke Drive, Rudi Place, Saratoga Drive, Crestline Avenue, Fairlane Avenue, Park Lane and Friendship Lane. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Friendship Village to hold the Race To Remember 5K event on July 21, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the route commencing and concluding on the Friendship Village campus, with barricades on Southbrooke Drive, Rudi Place, Saratoga Drive, Crestline Avenue, Fairlane Avenue, Park Lane and Friendship Lane, is hereby approved.
