Courier, a daily newspaper printed in Waterloo, Black
Hawk County, Iowa, once commencing on the 24th
day of May, 2018 in the name of said newspaper, and
that the annexed rate of advertised is the regular legal
rate of said newspaper, and that the following is a

The City of Waterloo proposes to amend
the ordinances by which MidAmerican
Energy Company was granted franchises Printer's Bill $24.00
to sell and deliver electric energy and
natural gas within the City of Waterloo.
The amendment would impose on all
classes of customers a franchise fee in an
amount equal to four percent (4%) of
charges billed. Franchise fee revenue will
be used for inspecting, supervising, and
otherwise regulating franchises approved
by the City; wages, benefits and training
of public safety personnel, technical and
professional personnel, and other City
employees; acquisition, maintenance and
replacement of vehicles and equipment
for public safety, streets, sanitation,
building inspection, code enforcement
and other City departments; acquisition,
maintenance, upgrades and replacement
of hardware, software, software licenses
and related items for City computer
systems, communications systems, and
other technology-based systems; so
