RESOLUTION NO. 2018-410 RESOLUTION FROM LATANYA GRAVES, ON BEHALF OF NAACP/SOCIAL ACTION INC, FOR A VARIANCE TO THE NOISE ORDINANCE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 23, 2018 FROM NOON TO 6:00 P.M. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 23RD ANNUAL JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION EVENT TO BE HELD AT SULLIVAN PARK, INCLUDING LIVE MUSIC, DRILL TEAM AND THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM. WHEREAS, LaTanya Graves is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance on June 23, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., in conjunction with the 23rd annual Juneteenth Celebration to be held at Sullivan Park, including live music, drill team and the use of a PA system, and WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, and WHEREAS, LaTanya Graves has made formal application for a variance to the Noise Ordinance, together with recommendation and approval of the Captain of Police Services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of LaTanya Graves for a variance to the Noise Ordinance on June 23, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., in conjunction with the 23rd annual Juneteenth Celebration event to be held at Sullivan Park, including music and the use of a PA system, is hereby granted.
