RESOLUTION NO. 2018-740
RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR AN IOWA
CLEAN AIR ACT PROGRAM GRANT TO INSTALL A
TRAFFIC ADAPTIVE SYSTEM ON ANSBOROUGH AVENUE
BETWEEN RIDGEWAY AVENUE AND DOWNING AVENUE
INCLUDING A $98,250 MATCH OF CITY FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has requested permission to submit an
application for an Iowa Clean Air Attainment grant in the amount of$393,000, to install a traffic
adaptive system on seven (7) intersections from Ridgeway to Downing, including a fiber optic
interconnect, and
WHEREAS, The City of Waterloo is committed to adequately maintaining the completed
project for its intended public use following project completion, and
WHEREAS, The City of Waterloo will provide the $98,250 match required for the
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the submission of the application for an Iowa Clean Air Attainment
grant in the amount of$393,000, with matching City funds in the amount of$98,250, to install a
traffic adaptive system on seven (7) intersections from Ridgeway to Downing, including a fiber
optic interconnect, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this I"day of October 2018.
