The 12 -page report highlights the work inside and outside of Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium throughout the calendar year. Through the "Our Bucks" community program, the Bucks raised over $13,500 in charitable donations including both in -stadium and in-kind donations. Other community efforts saw the Bucks collecting over 3,300 pounds of food for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank through the inaugural year of the Step Up to the Plates initiative. This was the third year of the Bucks Summer Reading Program which promoted the importance of reading to 38 elementary schools in Eastern Iowa. The Catch With A Cop and the Share The Glove program were two new initiatives started by the Bucks in 2018. The Alliance & Chamber works very closely with the City's economic development staff and many other partners in these collaborative efforts. Alliance & Chamber staff assist with many other projects in a support or guiding role that are not detailed. LIVE THE VALLEY Live the Valley, a talent attraction and retention initiative, showcases the people, places, experiences and opportunities in the Cedar Valley region, including Waterloo. MORE TIME LIVING o-26 The website (www.livethevalley.com) was completely redesigned with dynamic video and photo content. Since the relaunch in August 2018, there have been 1,189 average unique users per month. Live the Valley's Facebook page has over 4,800 followers and has seen a 10% increase since August. The social media presense has expanded to include Twitter, Instagram and Linkedln. LIEE IN IRE CED. Discover Your Career TALENT - STATE COLLABORATIONS & PARTNERSHIPS FUTURE READY IOWA Future Ready Iowa is a statewide collaborative initiative to build Iowa's talent pipeline. An event was held on November 13, 2018 with 300 attendees. Alliance & Chamber staff served on committees, and are part of action plans. Region. Opportunities Cedar Valley Region obs THE IOWAN PROJECT The Alliance & Chamber is collaborating with Technology Association of Iowa, to bring tech talent to Iowa, focusing on Iowa ex -pats. The Alliance & Chamber submits Cedar Valley content for the newsletter, and represented Waterloo companies hiring tech talent at two events in Denver and Chicago. TALENT - EXISTING WORKFORCE GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT ECONOMIC INCLUSION The Economic Inclusion (El) Partnership's focus is to empower employers with best practices for inclusiveness to strengthen and diversify the workforce. The City of Waterloo is represented on the Partnership. Economic Inclusion Conference Economic Inclusion Tool -Kit In partnership with the University of Northern Iowa, this year's conference was held in October with over 370 attendees. Summer Series: Promotes the livability of the Cedar Valley to students interning and working part-time over the summer. Events were hosted at Lost Island, SingleSpeed in Waterloo, and Mill Race. 3 200 Summer Series Events Attendees Waterloo Companies Represented Black Hawk Child Care Coalition The Alliance & Chamber contributed to the Coalition by surveying businesses on child care -specific issues. This survey will help identify actionable programming for the Coalition and support legislative agendas. Reference attached survey results. Tech -Education Roundtable The Alliance & Chamber hosted a roundtable bringing 23 technology leaders and technology educators together, including representatives from Waterloo, to discuss future skills required of tech talent.
