RESOLUTION NO. 2018-905
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO VERACITY
EXCAVATING, LLC, OF LA PORTE CITY, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $195,485 AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2019 LEVEE TREE
CLEARING CEDAR RIVER, CONTRACT NO. 968, AND
AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Veracity Excavating, LLC of La Porte City, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of$195,485, and is the apparent low bidder in conjunction with the FY 2019 Levee Tree
Clearing Cedar River, Contract No. 968, and
WHEREAS, Veracity Excavating, LLC submitted a written contract, bonds and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2018-870, after public hearing on December 3, 2018 in conjunction with the
FY 2019 Levee Tree Clearing Cedar River, Contract No. 968.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Veracity Excavating, LLC, in the amount of $195,485, in
conjunction with the FY 2019 Levee Tree Clearing Cedar River, Contract No. 968, is hereby
awarded.
2. That the contract, bonds and certificate of insurance submitted by Veracity
Excavating, LLC, in conjunction with the FY 2019 Levee Tree Clearing Cedar River, Contract
No. 968, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December 2018.
