RESOLUTION NO. 2019-141 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSPORTATION POLICY BOARD FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FROM IOWA'S TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP), IN- THE NTHE AMOUNT OF $137,600, WITH A CITY MATCH OF $34,400 FUNDED FROM G.O. BONDS, FOR TIE PARK AVENUE BICYCLE SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo needs to make traffic signal improvements to accommodate the recently implemented bike lane along Park Avenue from Highway 218 to Franklin Street. WHEREAS, funding assistance is available through the Black Hawk County Metropolitan Area Transportation Policy Board's Iowa's Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), and the City of Waterloo is in need of such assistance in order to complete the Park Avenue Bicycle Signal Improvements project; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Waterloo to avail itself of fmancial assistance through the Iowa's Transportation Alternatives Program as administered by the Black Hawk County MPO; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: 1) The Iowa's TAP application for Park Avenue Bicycle Signal Improvements project, in the amount of $137,600 with a City match of $34,400 funded from G.O. Bonds, is hereby approved and endorsed by the City Council of Waterloo, Iowa. 2) The improvement provided for in this application will be dedicated to public use and adequately maintained by the City of Waterloo for a minimum of twenty years. 3) The City of Waterloo assures the Black Hawk County Metropolitan Area Transportation Policy Board that funds for the match have been or will be committed to the Iowa's TAP project. 4) The Mayor is hereby designated as the official representative of the City and is further directed and authorized to affix his signature to said application.
