RESOLUTION NO. 2019-190
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT
TO PETERSON CONTRACTORS, INC. OF REINBECK, IOWA
IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,369,859.58, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
FOR THE FY 2019 UNIVERSITY AVENUE
RECONSTRUCTION - PHASE 2, CONTRACT NO. 934, AND
AUTHORIZE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc. of Reinbeck, Iowa submitted a bid in the amount
of $8,369,859.58, and is the apparent low bidder, in conjunction with the FY 2019 University
Avenue Reconstruction - Phase 2, Contract No. 934, and
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc. submitted a written contract, per the
specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with Resolution No. 2019-152,
after public hearing on March 18, 2019, in conjunction with the FY 2019 University Avenue
Reconstruction - Phase 2, Contract No. 934.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Peterson Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $8,369,859.58, in
conjunction with the FY 2019 University Avenue Reconstruction - Phase 2, Contract No. 934, is
hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance submitted by Peterson
Contractors, Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2019 University Avenue Reconstruction - Phase 2,
Contract No. 934, are hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed
to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of April 2019.
