NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
On Proposed Plans, Specifications, Form
of Contract, And Estimate of Cost
For the FY 2019 STREET
RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM

RECEIVING OF BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City Clerk of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, at
her office in the City Hall of the said City
on the 28th day of March, 2019 until 1:00
p.m. for the construction of the FY 2019
STREET RECONSTRUCTION PRO-
GRAM, Contract No. 965, as described in
detail in the plans and specifications now
on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
OPENING OF BIDS
All proposals received will be opened in
the First Floor Conference Room at City
Hall, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on the
28th day of March, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., and
the proposals will be acted upon at such
later time and place as may then be fixed
by the City Council.
PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Council of.
said City will conduct a public hearing on
the proposed plans, specifications, form
of contract, and estinlate.of cost for the
construction of the above-described im-
provement project at 5:30 p.m. on, the 1st
day of April, 2019, said hearing to be held
in the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers
in City Hall in said City.; The proposed
plans, specifications, 'form, of Contract,
and estimate of cost for said improve-
ments heretofore prepared by the City of
Waterloo are now on file in the office of
the City Clerk for public examination, and
any person interested therein may file
written objection thereto .with the City
Clerk before the date set for said hearing,
or appear and make objection thereto
with the City Clerk before the date set for

objection thereto at the meeting above set
forth.
SCOPE OF WORK
The -agent of the work involVad is the
construction of street improvements in,
along and ,upon portions of certain
streets, avenues roads, and alleys, and
such other ,work as may be incidental
thereto along and upon the following
streets, avenues, roads and alleys.
Street improvements consisting of:
Alternate A:
• 1 Y2 or 3 inch thick HMA ST Intermediate
W, 60% CR and 3 -inch Base, i&", 60%
CR with a 1 14 in HMA" ST
Surface, Y4", 75% Off nhetween new
24 -inch curb and gutter `sections;
OR
Alternate B
• 6 or 8-inchon-reinforced PCC paving
with integral eft and gutter
Subgrade drain tile, granular subbase,
new storm sewer and appurtenances and
other such work as may be incidental
thereto.
All street improvements consist of the
'reconstruction of an existing paved street,
which is to be replaced with a proposed
street.

Courier, a daily newspaper printed in Waterloo, Black

and that the annexed rate of advertised is the regular
legal rate of said newspaper, and that the following is
a correct bill for publishing said notice.
