RESOLUTION NO. 2019-217
RESOLUTION AWARDING ASBESTOS ABATEMENT BID TO
ADVANCED ENVIRONMENTAL OF WATERLOO, IOWA IN THE
AMOUNT OF $10,600, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SERVICES AT: 1420 COMMERCIAL
STREET, 1422 COMMERCIAL STREET, 1426 COMMERCIAL
STREET, 1430 COMMERCIAL STREET, 1211 SYCAMORE STREET,
328 W. 14TH STREET, 419 LANE STREET, AND 536 DAWSON
STREET, AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted bids for asbestos
abatement removal services at 1420 Commercial Street, 1422 Commercial Street, 1426
Commercial Street, 1430 Commercial Street, 1211 Sycamore Street, 328 W. 14th Street, 419
Lane Street, and 536 Dawson Street in the amount of $10,600, and
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2019-215, after public hearing on April 8, 2019, in conjunction with the asbestos
removal services at 1420 Commercial Street, 1422 Commercial Street, 1426 Commercial Street,
1430 Commercial Street, 1211 Sycamore Street, 328 W. 14th Street, 419 Lane Street, and 536
Dawson Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Advanced Environmental in the amount of $10,600 for 1420
Commercial Street, 1422 Commercial Street, 1426 Commercial Street, 1430 Commercial Street,
1211 Sycamore Street, 328 W. 14th Street, 419 Lane Street, and 536 Dawson Street, is hereby
awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Advanced
Environmental in conjunction with the asbestos abatement removal services at 1420 Commercial
Street, 1422 Commercial Street, 1426 Commercial Street, 1430 Commercial Street, 1211
Sycamore Street, 328 W. 14th Street, 419 Lane Street, and 536 Dawson Street, are hereby
approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
