RESOLUTION NO. 2019-229
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO ASPRO,
INC. OF WATERLOO, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF
$3,640,089.68, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS,
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE FY 2019 STREET RECONSTRUCTION
PROGRAM, CONTRACT NO. 965, AND AUTHORIZE THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Aspro, Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of $3,640,089.68
and is the apparent low bidder in conjunction with the FY 2019 Street Reconstruction Program,
Contract No. 965, and
WHEREAS, Aspro, Inc. submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of insurance, per
the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with Resolution No. 2019-
185, after public hearing on April 1, 2019, on published notice required by law, in conjunction with
the FY 2019 Street Reconstruction Program, Contract No. 965.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Aspro, Inc. in the amount of $3,640,089.68, in conjunction with the
FY 2019 Street Reconstruction Program, Contract No. 965, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Aspro, Inc., in
conjunction with the FY 2019 Street Reconstruction Program, Contract No. 965, are
hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of April 2019.
