RESOLUTION APPROVING CONVENTION & VISITORS
BUREAU BOARD RECOMMENDATIONS TO FUND THE FY
2020 CAPITAL, PARTNER, AND EVENT GRANTS IN THE
TOTAL AMOUNT OF $250,500.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that
the Board of Directors of the Waterloo Convention & Visitors Bureau Board recommendations
for the following funding be approved as follows:
1. Fifteen (15) Event Grant applications, for FY 2020, Battle of Waterloo - $8,000;
Cedar Valley Pridefest - $8,000; Hawkeye Nationals - $5,500; IA Irishfest - $9,000; IA Police
Conference - $2,500; Iron Elite Wrestling Tournaments - $15,000; MidAmerican Basketball -
$5000; NWL All-Star Game - $10,000; Pool & Dart - $16,000; State Softball Tournament -
$2,500; UNI Overseas Recruiting - $18,000; USBCA Bowling Tournaments - $6,000; VGM
Heartland - $9,000; Waterhawks - $2,500; Waterloo Open - $5,500 for a total amount of
$122,500.
2. Three (3) Capital Grant applications for FY 2020, WSA Hoing — Rice - $10,500;
CV Sports Commission - $6,500; Silos & Smokestacks - $15,000, for a total amount of $32,000.
3. Six (6) Partner Grant applications for FY 2020, Grout Museum District - $25,000;
Waterloo Center for the Arts - $25,000; Waterloo Community Playhouse - $21,000; Dan Gable
Museum - $10,000; Main Street Waterloo - $10,000; Cedar Valley Arboretum - $5,000, for a
total amount of $96,000.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15`f1 day of April 2019.
