RESOLUTION AWARDING ASBESTOS ABATEMENT BID
TO ADVANCED ENVIRONMENTAL OF WATERLOO, IOWA
IN THE AMOUNT OF $69,700, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE,
IN CONJUNCTION WITH ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
SERVICES AT: 2127 E. 4TH STREET (FORMER ST. MARY'S
RECTORY), 1131 BERTCH AVENUE, 614 W. 7TH STREET,
623 W. 2ND STREET, 322 AND 326 CRESCENT PLACE, 421
LOGAN AVENUE, 154 HARRISON STREET AND 411 E.
8m STREET, AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount
of $69,700, and is the apparent low bidder in conjunction with the asbestos abatement services
at: 2127 E. 4th Street (former St. Mary's Rectory), 1131 Bertch Avenue, 614 W. 7th Street, 623
W. 2nd Street, 322 and 326 Crescent Place, 421 Logan Avenue, 154 Harrison Street and 411 E.
8th Street, and
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2019-316, after public hearing on May 6, 2019, in conjunction with the asbestos
abatement services at: 2127 E. 4th Street (former St. Mary's Rectory), 1131 Bertch Avenue, 614
W. 7th Street, 623 W. 2nd Street, 322 and 326 Crescent Place, 421 Logan Avenue, 154 Harrison
Street and 411 E. 8th Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Advanced Environmental in the amount of $69,700, in
conjunction with the asbestos abatement services at: 2127 E. 4th Street (former St. Mary's
Rectory), 1131 Bertch Avenue, 614 W. 7th Street, 623 W. 2nd Street, 322 and 326 Crescent
Place, 421 Logan Avenue, 154 Harrison Street and 411 E. 8th Street, is hereby accepted.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Advanced
Environmental in conjunction with the asbestos abatement services at: 2127 E. 4th Street (former
St. Mary's Rectory), 1131 Bertch Avenue, 614 W. 7th Street, 623 W. 2nd Street, 322 and 326
Crescent Place, 421 Logan Avenue, 154 Harrison Street and 411 E. 8th Street, are hereby
approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of May 2019.
