ORDINANCE NO. 4703 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2003 TRAFFIC CODE BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (22) FIFTH STREET OF SECTION 541, INCREASING SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN AREAS; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SUBSECTION (22) FIFTH STREET OF SECTION 541, INCREASING SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN AREAS . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA: That Subsection (22) Fifth Street of Section 541, Increasing Speed Limits in Certain Areas, of the 2003 Traffic Code, is hereby repealed in its entirety; that a new Subsection (22) Fifth Street of Section 541, Increasing Speed Limits in Certain Areas, of the 2003 Traffic Code, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof as follows : (22) Fifth Street northbound - from Martha to Baltimore Street 35 mph from Baltimore Street to Locust Street (school zone when lights flashing) 25 mph from Locust Street to Grant 35 mph Fifth Street southbound - from South to Randolph (school zone when lights flashing) 25 mph from Walnut Street to Washington 30 mph from Washington southbound to Grant 35 mph INTRODUCED: July 6, 2004 PASSED 1st CONSIDERATION: July 6, 2004 PASSED 2nd CONSIDERATION: July 6, 2004 PASSED 3rd CONSIDERATION: July 6, 2004 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on the 6th day of July, 2004, and approved by the Mayor on the 8th day of July, 2004 .
