AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO.
2479, AS AMENDED, OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA:
BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (37) DWELLING, ROW,
OF SECTION 2A-3 , DEFINITIONS, OF PART III ;
AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW
SUBSECTION (37) DWELLING, ROW, OF SECTION
2A-3 , DEFINITIONS, OF PART III ; AND
BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (A) 1, PRINCIPAL
PERMITTED USES, OF SECTION 2A-11, "R-1"
RESIDENCE DISTRICT, OF PART VII ; AND
ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SUBSECTION

OF SECTION 2A-14 , "R-2" ONE & TWO FAMILY
RESIDENCE DISTRICT, OF PART VIII .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA:
That Subsection (37) Dwelling, Row, of Section 2A-3 ,
Definitions, of Part III , of the Waterloo Zoning Ordinance, is
hereby repealed in its entirety; that a new Subsection (37)
Dwelling, Row, of Section 2A-3 , Definitions, of Part III , of the
Waterloo Zoning Ordinance is hereby enacted in lieu thereof as
follows :
PART III, 2A-3 Definitions
(37) Dwelling, Row: Any one of two or more attached
dwellings in a continuous row, each such dwelling
designed and erected as a unit on a separate lot and
separated from one another by an approved wall or
walls . Such dwellings shall be required to maintain a
compatible exterior appearance of both sides in terms
of the colors and types of siding, roofing,
landscaping, and other additions such as shutters,
doors, and windows . Any minor changes shall be
similar in design to the design of the adjoining
dwelling unit . Furthermore, any type of damage or
destruction to the dwelling unit , as a part or whole,
which activates an insurance policy shall be first
applied to the replacement, repair, and maintenance of
the dwelling unit . All new structures or existing
converted structures shall be required to meet all
applicable codes and ordinances regarding building,
fire, water, and utility connections, splits, etc .

That Subsection (A) 1, Principal Permitted Uses, of Section 2A-
11, "R-1" Residence District, of Part VII , of the Waterloo
Zoning Ordinance, is hereby repealed in its entirety; that a new
Section 2A-11, "R-1" Residence District, of Part VII, of the
Waterloo Zoning Ordinance, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof as
follows :
PART VII, 2A-11 "R-1" Residence District
(A) Principal Permitted Uses
1 . One & two family dwellings, including two-family
row dwellings
That Subsection (A) 2 , Principal Permitted Uses, of Section 2A-
14, "R-2" One & Two Family Residence District, of Part VIII, of
the Waterloo Zoning Ordinance, is hereby repealed in its
entirety; that a new Subsection (A) 2 , Principal Permitted Uses,
of Section 2A-14 , "R-2" One & Two Family Residence District, of
Part VIII , of the Waterloo Zoning Ordinance, is hereby enacted
in lieu thereof as follows :
Part VIII, 2A-14 "R-2" One & Two Family Residence District
(A) Principal Permitted Uses :
2 . One & two family dwellings, including two-family
row dwellings
