ORDINANCE NO. 4407
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING
SUBSECTION (a) (6) OF SUBSECTION 34-77,
DETERMINATION OF RATES AND CHARGES, OF
DIVISION 7, USER CHARGES AND FEES, OF
CHAPTER 34 , UTILITIES; AND BY ENACTING IN
LIEU THEREOF A NEW SUBSECTION (a) (6) OF
SUBSECTION 34-77, DETERMINATION OF RATES AND
CHARGES, OF DIVISION 7, USER CHARGES AND
FEES, OF CHAPTER 34 , UTILITIES; AND
BY ADDING SUBSECTION (a) (7) TO SUBSECTION
34-77, DETERMINATION OF RATES AND CHARGES,
OF DIVISION 7, USER CHARGES AND FEES, OF
CHAPTER 34 , UTILITIES .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA:
That Subsection (a) (6) of Subsection 34-77, Determination of
Rates and Charges, of Division 7, User Charges and Fees, of
Chapter 34 , Utilities, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed in its entirety; that a new
Subsection (a) (6) of Subsection 34-77, Determination of Rates
and Charges, of Division 7, User Charges and Fees, of Chapter
34 , Utilities, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof and Subsection
(a) (7) is hereby added as follows :
Sec . 34-77 . Determination of Rates and Charges .
(a) Each connection to the POTW shall pay user charges in
accordance with the following schedule :
(6) The following sewer rental charge shall become
effective upon passage of this ordinance .
Minimum monthly charge* $ 9 . 55
Minimum quarterly charge** $28 . 65
Per Ccf over minimum monthly charge*** $ 1 . 40
*Includes first 3 Ccf
**Includes first 9 Ccf
***Ccf = 100 cubic feet of metered water used or
metered wastewater discharge if provided in
permit .
(7) Sewer users with separately negotiated rate
agreements will be increased by the same applicable
amount that rates under Subsection (6) above, are
increased.
