ORDINANCE NO. 4386
ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2479, AS
AMENDED, BY ADDING SUBSECTION (2) (G) ,
EXISTING OPEN PORCH, TO SECTION 2A-48,
EXCEPTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS AND SECTION NO.
33 TO PART III, DEFINITIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That Subsection (2) (G) is hereby added to Section 2A-48,
Exceptions and Modifications, of Part XXIV, Exceptions and
Modifications, and Section No. 33 of Part III, Definitions, of
Ordinance No. 2479, as amended, as follows :
"2 . In addition, a new deck or porch addition to the front of the
house may be built to the same specifications as noted above
in regards to 1,1 the distance into the required front yard
setback and the width of the residence. This will not be
interpreted in any way to authorize the addition of a deck
over a platted building line. Said deck addition is defined
as a non-enclosed structure with a non-solid side wall, if
any at all, which cannot be enclosed in the future as an
addition to the home.
33 . Deck-a non-enclosed platform structure without a solid floor
or wall system. Said platform will be comprised of a
permeable plank or board system for the flooring. If a wall
is built, it will be comprised of a non-solid spindle or
board design. "
