AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1993 CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY
REPEALING THE TITLE ONLY OF DIVISION 3 ,
AIRPORT AREA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, OF CHAPTER
2, ADMINISTRATION; AND ENACTING IN LIEU
THEREOF A NEW TITLE ONLY OF DIVISION 2. 1 ,
AIRPORT AREA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, OF CHAPTER
2, ADMINISTRATION; AND
BY REPEALING DIVISION 3 , CIVIL SERVICE
COMMISSION, OF CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION; AND
ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW DIVISION 3 ,
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, OF CHAPTER 2,
ADMINISTRATION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa:
That the title only of Division 3 , Airport Area Development
Authority, of Chapter 2, Administration, of the 1993 Code of
Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed; that
a new title only of Division 2. 1 , Airport Area Development
Authority, is enacted in lieu thereof as follows:
DIVISION 2. 1. AIRPORT AREA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.
That Division 3, Civil Service Commission, of Chapter 2,
Administration, of the 1993 Code of Ordinances of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed in its entirety; that a new
Division 3, Civil Service Commission, of Chapter 2, Administration,
of the 1993 Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof as follows:
DIVISION 3 . CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
Sec. 2-187 . Creation.
A Civil Service Commission is established pursuant to Iowa
Code Chapter 400 ( 1993) , and any amendments thereto.
Sec. 2-188. Term.
Commissioners shall serve six-year staggered terms as
established by Iowa Code §400. 1 ( 1993 ) . However, no member to said
Commission shall serve more than two ( 2) consecutive terms and
shall not be reappointed to a third term unless said member has not
served on any Board or Commission of the City of Waterloo for a
minimum of one ( 1) year before reappointment to any Board or
Commission.
