AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1993 CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY
ADDING SECTION 14-8 . 1, FIRE ARSON
INVESTIGATOR, TO CHAPTER 14, FIRE PREVENTION
AND PROTECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa:
That Section 14-8 . 1, Fire Arson Investigator, is hereby
added to Chapter 14, Fire Prevention and Protection, of the 1993
Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as follows :
Sec . 14-8 . 1 Fire Arson Investigator
There is hereby created the position of fire arson
investigator to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of
investigating the cause, origin, and circumstances of fires as
set forth in this ordinace. The fire arson investigator shall be
a peace officer as set forth in Iowa law and said investigator
shall have all the powers, duties, and responsibilities attendant
to the function of a peace officer, which shall include but not
be limited to the power of arrest .
