AN ORDINANCE AMENDING WATERLOO ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 2479, AS AMENDED, BY REPEALING
SUBSECTION ( 4) (c) OF SUBSECTION (B) STRUCTURES
PERMITTED ABOVE HEIGHT LIMIT OF SECTION 2A-48 ,
EXCEPTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS, OF PART XXII,
EXCEPTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS; AND BY ENACTING
IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SUBSECTION ( 4 ) (c) OF
SUBSECTION (B) STRUCTURES PERMITTED ABOVE
HEIGHT LIMIT OF SECTION 2A-48, EXCEPTIONS AND
MODIFICATIONS, OF PART XXII , EXCEPTIONS AND
MODIFICATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa:
That Subsection ( 4) (c) of Subsection (B) Structures Permitted Above
Height Limit of Section 2A-48, Exceptions and Modifications, of
Part XXII , Exceptions and Modifications, of Waterloo Zoning
Ordinance No. 2479, as amended, is hereby repealed in its entirety;
that a new Subsection ( 4) (c) of Subsection (B) Structures Permitted
Above Height Limit of Section 2A-48, Exceptions and Modifications,
of Part XXII , Exceptions and Modifications, of Waterloo Zoning
Ordinance No. 2479, as amended, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof
as follows:

c. Radio and television transmitting and receiving
antennae and antenna structures not attached to a
building shall not exceed sixty ( 60) feet in height
in any " R-1" , " R-2" , One and Two Family Residential
Zoning Districts; or eighty ( 80) feet in a " R-3" ,
" R-4" Multiple Family Zoned Districts. In all
other districts there is no maximum height. The
proposed tower may be approved by the City Planner
or his/her designate after receiving consent from
property owners within the limits of the tower ' s
maximum horizontal fall. If at least one objection
is received, the proposed tower may only be
approved by the Board of Adjustment after a public
hearing. Amateur radio antennas shall be allowed
to extend a maximum of ten ( 10) feet above the
surrounding buildings and foliage in any district.
