RESOLUTION NO. 2019-549
RESOLUTION AWARDING BID TO BITUMINOUS
MATERIALS & SUPPLY OF DES MOINES, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $152,500 IN CONJUNCTION WITH ASPHALT
EMULSIONS FOR THE CITY'S RECYCLED ASPHALT
PAVING PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Bituminous Materials & Supply of Des Moines, Iowa, submitted bids for the
Asphalt Emulsions for the City's Recycled Asphalt Paving Program, in the amount of$152,500
and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Bituminous Materials & Supply submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2019-547, after public hearing on July 22, 2019, in conjunction with the
Asphalt Emulsions for the City's Recycled Asphalt Paving Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid submitted by Bituminous Materials & Supply in the amount of
$152,500 for the Asphalt Emulsions for the City's Recycled Asphalt Paving Program, is hereby
accepted and the bid awarded to Bituminous Materials & Supply.
2. That the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance submitted by Bituminous
Materials & Supply are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of July 2019.
