RESOLUTION NO. 2008-1139
RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION WITH HOWARD
ALLEN FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON IMPROVEMENTS
TOTALING $190, 000 . 00 FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT
1329 LAPORTE ROAD IN THE CONSOLIDATED URBAN
REVITALIZATION AREA PLAN, IN THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA.
WHEREAS, Howard Allen has submitted an application dated
December 16, 2008 to the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, requesting to receive tax exemptions on improvements
totaling $190, 000 . 00 for property located at 1329 LaPorte Road,
more fully described as follows :
Unplatted Waterloo West part of the Southeast 1,1 of
Section 36 Township 89 Range 13 beginning at the
Northwest corner of Lot 1 Garden Place; thence North
along the East line of LaPorte Road a distance of 454 . 1
feet; thence Southeasterly 487 . 9 feet to a point on the
North line of Lot 1 Garden Place that is 185 . 2 feet
East of the point of beginning; thence West to
beginning except a part of the Southeast of Section
36 Township 89 Range 13 described as beginning at the
Northwest corner of Lot No.,, 1 in Garden Place; thence
North 164 . 1 feet along the East line of LaPorte Road;
thence North 89 Degrees 44;1 Minutes East 120 . 1 feet;
thence South 21 Degrees 53; Minutes East 174 . 5 feet;
thence South 89 Degrees 11 Minutes West 185 . 2 feet
along the North line of said Lot No. 1 to point of
beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa;
and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the designated
Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area in Waterloo, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa,
and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is
in conformance with the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Plan as
officially adopted by the City Council for the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, and
WHEREAS, the improvements .on;' said property were made during
the time in which such improvements are eligible for the tax
exemption as set forth in the Consolidated Urban Revitalization
Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted
by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the
Governor of the State of Iowa, and
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting the following
exemption schedule:
For the first year 100%
For the second year 100%
For the third year 100%

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that said application is hereby approved
