HomeMy WebLinkAbout4125-09/11/1995ORDINANCE NO. 4125 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 2479, AS AMENDED, BY: ADDING SUBSECTIONS (67a) HISTORIC STRUCTURE AND (100b) RECREATIONAL VEHICLE TO SECTION 2A- 3, DEFINITIONS, OF PART III, DEFINITIONS; AND ADDING SUBSECTION (13) TO SUBSECTION A, PRINCIPLE PERMITTED USES, OF SECTION 2A-8, REGULATIONS, OF PART VI, "A-1" AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT; AND ADDING SUBSECTION (8) TO SUBSECTION A, PRINCIPLE PERMITTED USES, OF SECTION 2A-11, REGULATIONS, OF PART VII, "R-1" RESIDENCE DISTRICT. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa: That Subsections (67a) Historic Structure and (100b) Recreational Vehicle are hereby added to Section 2A-3, Definitions, of Part III, Definitions, of Zoning Ordinance No. 2479, as follows: Section 2A-3 DEFINITIONS (67a) Historic Structure: Any structure that is: 1. Listed individually in the National Historic Register of Historic Places (a listing maintained by the Department of Interior) or preliminarily determined by the Secretary of the Interior as meeting the requirements for individual listing on the National Register; 2. Certified or preliminarily determined by the Secretary of the Interior as contributing to the historic significance of a registered historic district or a district preliminarily determined by the Secretary to qualify as a registered historic district; 3. Individually listed on the State Inventory of Historic Places; 4. Individually listed on the local inventory of historic places. (100b) Recreational Vehicle: A vehicle which is: 1. Built on a single chassis; 2. 400 square feet or less when measured at the largest horizontal projection; 3. Designed to be self-propelled or permanently towable by a light duty truck; and 4. Designed primarily not for use as a permanent dwelling but as temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, travel or seasonal use. That Subsection (13) is hereby added to Subsection A, Principle Permitted Uses, of Section 2A-8, Regulations, of Part VI, "A-1" Agricultural District, of Zoning Ordinance No. 2479, as follows: PART VI "A-1" AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT Section 2A-8 REGULATIONS BOOK 319 PATE 480 Ordinance No. 4125 Page 2 A, Principle Permitted Uses. 13. Recreational vehicles within special flood hazard areas zoned Al - 30, AH and AE on the Flood Insurance Rate Map must either: 1. Be on the site for fewer than 180 consecutive days. 2. Be fully licensed and ready for highway use, or 3. Meet the permit, elevation and anchoring requirements for "manufactured homes." A recreational vehicle is ready for highway use if it is on its wheels or jacking system, is attached to the site only by disconnect type utilities and security devices, and has no permanent attached additions. That Subsection (8) is hereby added to Subsection A, Principle Permitted Uses, of Section 2A-11, Regulations, of Part VII, "R-2" Residence District, of Zoning Ordinance No. 2479, as follows: PART VII "R-1" RESIDENCE DISTRICT Section 2A-11 REGULATIONS A.
