RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT AND FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
H s FOR THE MAIN STREET PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF

r_ WHEREAS, an Agreement between the Iowa Department of Economic
c• iNaVelopment, Main Street Waterloo and the City of Waterloo, Iowa
,„ Cdr the purpose of continuing the Main Street Iowa program in the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, and,

4.--1 WHEREAS, this Agreement is pursuant to contractual agreements
c :-between the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Iowa
1e-partment of Economic Development to assist in the revitalization
of the designated Main Street project area of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, and

H ' WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
ceridorses the goal of economic revitalization of the Downtown
within the context of preservation and rehabilitation of its
historic buildings and supports the continuation of the Main
:Street Four Point Approach as developed by the National Trust for
Historic Preservation and espoused by Main Street Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, meeting in regular session on February 9,
2009, that the City of Waterloo, Iowa hereby agrees to support
both financially and philosophically the work of Main Street
Waterloo and designates the Main Street Board to supervise the
Program Director.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of February, 2009 .
