RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM MAIN STREET WATERLOO
ON 8/10, 8/17, 8/31, 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, FROM NOON TO 2:00
A.M., IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE W. 4TH STREET BAR
DISTRICT PED MALL/BEER GARDEN EVENTS, INCLUDING
STREET CLOSURE OF W. 4TH STREET AT
WASHINGTON/BLUFF STREET TO JEFFERSON STREET
WITH THE USE OF CITY BARRICADES, STREET SWEEPER
AND PICNIC TABLES.
WHEREAS, Main Street Waterloo, is requesting permission to hold the W. 4th Street Bar
District Ped Mall/Beer Garden Events, including street closure of W. 4th Street at
Washington/Bluff Street to Jefferson Street with the use of City barricades, street sweeper and
picnic tables, August 10, 17 and 31 and September 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2019, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance,
and
WHEREAS, Main Street Waterloo, has made formal application for a variance to the
Noise Ordinance to hold the W. 4th Street Bar District Ped Mall/Beer Garden Events, August 10,
17 and 31 and September 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2019 from noon to 2:00 a.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Main Street Waterloo, for a variance to the Noise
Ordinance on August 10, 17 and 31 and September 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2019 from noon to 2:00
a.m., in conjunction with the W. 4th Street Bar District Ped Mall/Beer Garden Events, including
street closure of W. 4th Street at Washington/Bluff Street to Jefferson Street with the use of City
barricades, street sweeper and picnic tables, is hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of August 2019.
