ORDINANCE NO. 3959
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING WATERLOO ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 2479, AS AMENDED:
BY ADDING SUBSECTION (64b) GROUP HOME
PROVIDING INTERMEDIATE CARE TO SECTION 2A-3,
DEFINITIONS, OF PART III; AND
BY ADDING SUBSECTION (7) GROUP HOME PROVIDING
INTERMEDIATE CARE TO SUBSECTION 2A -11(A),
PRINCIPAL PERMITTED USES, OF PART VII, "R-1"
RESIDENCE DISTRICT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
That Subsection (64b) Group Home Providing Intermediate Care
of Section 2A-3, Definitions, of Part III, of the Waterloo Zoning
Ordinance No. 2479, as amended, is hereby added as follows:
(64b) Group Home Providing Intermediate Care: A group
home providing intermediate care for the mentally
retarded under Iowa Code Chapter 135C or as a child
foster care facility under Iowa Code Chapter 237 to
provide room and board, personal care,
rehabilitation services, and supervision within a
group home for not more than eight (8) mentally
retarded individuals.
That Subsection (7) Group Home Providing Intermediate Care, of
Subsection 2A -11(A), Principal Permitted Uses, of Part VII, "R-1"
Residence District, of Waterloo Zoning Ordinance No. 2479, as
amended, is hereby added as follows:
(7) Group Home Providing Intermediate Care, provided a site
plan shall be submitted that shall assure the City that
the use of the property will have no adverse effect on
traffic, will have adequate off-street parking for staff,
will have a density no greater than permitted within the
zoning classification, and no signs or other exterior
indication that the house is being used for anything
other than a residence.
