AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1988 CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING
SUBSECTION 16-8(a), REGARDING FEES FOR SERVICE, OF
CHAPTER 16, GARBAGE AND REFUSE; AND BY ENACTING IN
LIEU THEREOF A NEW SUBSECTION 16-8(a), REGARDING
FEES FOR SERVICE, TO CHAPTER 16, GARBAGE AND
REFUSE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa:
That Subsection 16-8(a), regarding fees for service, of
Chapter 16, Garbage and Refuse, of the 1988 Code of
Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed
in its entirety; that a new Subsection 16-8(a), regarding
fees for service, of Chapter 16, Garbage and Refuse, of the
1988 Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof as follows:
Section 16-8. Fee for service; penalty for later
payment; exemptions.
(a) The expense of the garbage and refuse service
shall become a charge against the owner or occupant of every
dwelling unit to whom service is made available in the sum
of seven dollars and ninety cents ($7.90) per month. This
fee shall become effective with all bills mailed after March
1, 1990.
