Please describe what economic development/marketing activities the applicant has been involved in within the recent past. For
example, state whether the applicant has a local economic development organization or belongs to an area economic development

Experience Waterloo — the City's convention and visitors bureau — plays a heavy role in enhancing and promoting attractions.
Experience Waterloo looks to establish co -marketing opportunities with Lost Island Theme Park in an effort to fully integrate the
attraction within the $360 million Cedar Valley tourism sector, the 5th largest tourism market in the state of Iowa. Waterloo contracts
with Grow Cedar Valley to assist with marketing economic development opportunities. Lost Island Theme Park will work closely
with Experience Waterloo and Grow Cedar Valley to promote the new attraction, and to market job openings created by the project.
The developer estimates 14 full-time, year-round positions and 260 part-time/full-time seasonal positions to be created.
TRANSPORTATION NEED INFORMATION

Development of this site is identified in the City of Waterloo's Capital Improvements Program. The transportation components
identified in the application are consistent with the goals and objectives of the Black Hawk County MPO 2045 Long -Range
Transportation Plan. Specifically, the project relates to the goals to "support an efficient transportation system" and provide a high
degree of multimodal accessibility and mobility". The project is also supported by the FAST Act planning factors to "support the
economic vitality of the metropolitan area, especially by enabling global competitiveness, productivity, and efficiency", "increase the
accessibility and mobility of people and for freight", and "enhance travel and tourism".

attached resolution(s) binds the participating local governments to assume responsibility for adequate maintenance of any new or
improved city streets or secondary roads.
I hereby certify, under penalty of perjury, that any award of RISE funds; any subsequent letting of contracts for design, construction,
reconstruction, improvement, or maintenance; or the furnishing of materials therefore; shall not involve direct or indirect interest,
prohibited by Iowa Code 15A.2, 314.2, 362.5, or 331.342, of any state, county, or city official, elective or appointive. Any award of RISE
funding or any letting of a contract in violation of the foregoing provisions shall invalidate the award of RISE funding and authorize a
complete recovery of any funds previously disbursed.
I understand that, although this information is sufficient to secure a commitment of funds, a firm contract between the applicant and the
department is required prior to the authorization of funds.

Definitions
"Minority Persons," as defined in Iowa Code 8.11, means individuals who are women, persons with a disability, Blacks,
Latinos, Asians or Pacific Islanders, American Indians, and Alaskan Native Americans.
"Disability," as defined in Iowa Code 15.102, subsection 7, paragraph "b," subparagraph (1):
b. As used in this subsection:
(1) "Disability" means, with respect to an individual, a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or
more of the major life activities of the individual, a record of physical or mental impairment that substantially limits
one or more of the major life activities of the individual, or being regarded as an individual with a physical or mental
impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual.
