RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE,
s n n ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION, GRANT
o• ,� s APPLICATION; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
o A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING; DESIGNATING THE
MAYOR AS THE OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE
c CITY; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO AFFIX HIS

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of
Wrloo, Iowa, to avail itself of financial assistance through
tO Economic Development Administration in connection with the
Cty' s flood mitigation efforts; and
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Administration Economic
Adjustment Assistance, Second Supplemental Appropriations
Disaster Relief Opportunity grant application best addresses the
needs of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, as follows :
1 . The application for an Economic Development
Administration Economic Adjustment Assistance, Second
Supplemental Appropriations Disaster Relief
Opportunity Grant, on behalf of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, (Waterloo Storm Water Lift Station Project) is
hereby authorized and the Mayor is authorized to sign
said application and all supporting documentation.
2 . The Mayor is authorized to execute the Memorandum of
Understanding with the Iowa Northland Regional Council
of Governments in connection with said EDA
application.
3 . The Mayor is hereby designated as the official
representative of the City and is further hereby
directed and authorized to affix his signature to said
application and certain Federal and State assurances
in conjunction with same .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of May, 2009 .
