RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION WITH JUSTIN
ATEN FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON IMPROVEMENTS
TOTALING $110 , 000 . 00 FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT
1540 ARCHER AVENUE IN THE CONSOLIDATED URBAN
REVITALIZATION AREA PLAN, IN THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA.
WHEREAS, Justin Aten has submitted an application dated
May 22, 2009 to the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
requesting to receive tax exemptions on improvements totaling
$110, 000 . 00 for property located at 1540 Archer Avenue, more
fully described as follows :
A survey of Parcel "L" of the Northeast Quarter (NE 'A) ,
Section 29, Township 89 North (T89N) , Range 12 West
(R12W) of the Fifth Principal Meridian (5t P.M. ) , a
part of the Maywood Farms Survey, now a part of the
City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, State of Iowa,
more particularly described as follows :
Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Southwest
Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (SW IA, NE 'A) of said
Section 29 ; thence South 357 . 6 feet (measured as
S00°04 ' 51"W) along the West line of said Southwest
Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (SW IA, NE 1A) ; thence
East 415 feet (measured as S89°40' 50"E, 415 . 10 feet)
along the South line of Mulberry Street, and a line
parallel to the North line of said Southwest Quarter of
the Northeast Quarter (SW 'A, NE 1A) , to the Northwest
corner of Lot 14 in the Maywood Farms Survey, and the
point of beginning of this description; thence
S00°08 ' 20"W 284 . 76 feet along the West line of said Lot
14 to a point on the North line of Archer Street;
thence S89°37 ' 59"E, 80 . 09 feet along said North line of
Archer Street; thence N00°09' 31"E 70 . 00 feet along a
line parallel to said West line of Short Street; thence
S89°37 ' 59"E, 140 . 00 feet along a line parallel to said
North line of Archer Street to said West line of Short
Street; thence N00°09 ' 31"E 214 . 94 feet along the West
line of said Short Street and the East line of said Lot
20 and the East line of Lot 15 to the Northeast corner
of said Lot 15 , and the intersection of the West line
of Short Street with the South line of Mulberry Street;
thence N89°40' 50"W, 220 . 19 feet along the South line of
Mulberry Street, to the point of beginning, containing
52 , 907 . 0 square feet or 1 . 215 acres , all in the City of
Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa;
and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the designated
Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area in Waterloo, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa,
and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is
in conformance with the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Plan as
officially adopted by the City Council for the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, and

Z It5W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
ctT, WATERLOO, IOWA, that said application is hereby approved
andT the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward
said application and a copy of this resolution to the Assessor by
February 1, 2010 .
