AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1988 CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY ADDING
SUBSECTIONS (a) AND (b) TO SECTION 30-1, CERTAIN
SECTIONS AND ARTICLES SAVED FROM REPEAL, OF
CHAPTER 30, PLUMBING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA:
That Subsections (a) and (b) are hereby added to
Section 30-1, Certain Sections and Articles Saved from
Repeal, of Chapter 30, Plumbing, of the 1988 Code of the
Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as follows:
(a) That Section 2 and Section 3 of Article XVI,
Application and Examination for Licenses, of Ordinance No.
2234, as amended, are hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 2. Application for journeyman plumber's
examination and city licence shall be accompanied
by a fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) which will
entitle applicant to one examination. If found
qualified, the City of Waterloo shall issue the
respective license for which tested at no
additional cost."
"SEC. 3. Application for master plumber's
examination and city licence shall be accompanied
with a fee of Seventy-five Dollars ($75.00) which
shall entitle applicant to one examination. If
found qualified, the City of Waterloo shall issue
the respective license for which tested at no
additional cost. A person must serve five (5)
years as a journeyman to be eligible to take the
master plumber's examination."
(b) That Section 6 of Article XVII, Board of Plumber
Examiners, of Ordinance No. 2234, as amended, is amended to
read as follows:
"SEC. 6. Time and Place of Meetings.
Examination of applicants for plumber's
licenses shall be held during the first and third
quarters of each calendar year. The City Council
shall provide a suitable room in which the Board
may hold its meetings and shall furnish such
equipment, supplies and incidentals as are
necessary for the conduct of its business.
The Secretary of the Board shall notify all
members of the Board of applications filed and of
the exact time and place of all examinations to be
held.
