Home My WebLink About3744-09/24/1990ORDINANCE NO. 3744 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2644, TRAFFIC ORDINANCE, OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING IN ITS ENTIRETY SECTION 329, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION 329, AND BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION 335 - FINES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that Section 329 be and the same hereby repealed in its entirety and that the following Section 329 be enacted in lieu thereof as follows: Section 329. It shall be the duty of all personnel authorized to enforce parking regulations to report: (a) The number of each parking meter which indicates that the vehicle occupying the parking space adjacent to such parking meter is or has been parking in violation of the Traffic Code; (b) The state license number of such vehicle; (c) The time of day which the violation occurred; (d) Any other facts, a knowledge of which is necessary to a through understanding of the circumstances of attending such violation; the authorized personnel shall also attach to such vehicle a notice to the owner or operator thereof that such vehicle has been parking in violation of this Traffic Code and instructing such owner or operator on payment or appeal procedures. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the new Section 335, Fines, be enacted as follows: Sec. 335. FINES (a) It shall be a violation of this article for any, person to permit a vehicle to park in any parking space and adjacent to a parking meter without first inserting coins into the meter as designated on the meter. Legal parking is only permitted upon such a deposit. The fine schedule for violation of this subsection shall be as follows: Meter violation - If paid within 24 hrs. of violation If paid after 24 hrs. of violation If paid after 7 days of violation $ 2.00 $ 6.00 $10.00 (b) It shall be a violation of this article for any person to permit a vehicle to park in any parking space adjacent to a parking meter beyond the period of legal parking time established for any parking meter zone. This type of violation shall be designated as overtime parking. A fine of $6.00 shall be established for each violation of this subsection. (c) It shall be a violation of this article for any person to permit a vehicle to park in any parking space adjacent to a parking meter which is in violation of any of the following Subsections and shall be classified as an improper, restricted or prohibited parking violation. SUMMONS PLACED ON ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLE. SEC. 289. PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES ON CERTAIN STREETS. SEC. 290. NO PARKING BETWEEN SIGNS. SEC. 291. NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER. SEC. 292. NO PARKING HERE TO TRACKS. SEC. 293. NO PARKING HERE TO ALLEY. SEC. 294. NO PARKING MAIL DROP. SEC. 295. NO PARKING HOTEL ENTRANCE. SEC. 296. 30 MINUTE PARKING. SEC. 297. 30 MINUTE PARKING. SEC. 298.
