AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 1988 TRAFFIC CODE BY
REPEALING SECTION 279, TRUCK AND BUS PARKING
PROHIBITED; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW
SECTION 279, TRUCK AND BUS PARKING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA:
That Section 279, Truck and Bus Parking Prohibited of
the 1988 Traffic Code, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
That new S cctiCi279 of the Traffic Clue 1j hereby
enacted in lieu thereof as follows:
Sec. 279. Truck and Bus Parking Prohibited.
No person shall park a motor truck, implement of
husbandry, special mobile unit, van or other vehicle
used for the carrying of freight or persons on any
residential street in the city, except when making a
delivery or picking up persons or freight on said
street and when doing so shall park only for a length
of time reasonably necessary to perform said function.
Nothing in this ordinance shall prevent the
parking of a light delivery truck, panel delivery
truck, or pickup truck on a residential street. A
school bus may park on a residential street only on
those days that school is in session and only between
the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
