NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
On Proposed Specifications and the
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
for
Uniformed Unarmed Security Guard
Services at WMS
RECEIVING OF BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City Clerk of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, at
her office in City Hall, 715 Mulberry
Street, Waterloo, Iowa, on or before
Thursday, August 29, 2019 until 1:00
p.m., for the Uniformed Unarmed Security
Guard Services at Waste Management
Site as described in the plans and
specifications now on file at Waste
Management Services located at 3505
Easton Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa.
OPENING OF BIDS
All proposals received for the Uniformed
Unarmed Security Guard Services at
Waste Management Site will be opened
in the first Floor Conference Room at
City Haiti in the City of Waterloo, Iowa on
Thursday August 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.,
and, the proposals will be referred to
Waste Management Services for recom-
mendation of award.
PUBup HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Waterloo
City Council will conduct a public hearing
on the proposed specifications and form
of contract for the Uniformed Unarmed
Security. Guard Services at Waste
Management Site at 5:30 p.m. on
Monday, September 9, 2019, said hearing
to be held in the Harold E. Getty Council
Chambers at City Hall in said City. The
contract documents are on file in the City
Clerk's office, 715 Mulberry Street, Waste
Management Services, 3505 Easton
Ave., Waterloo, Iowa, for public examina-
tion. Any person interested may file
written objection with the City Clerk
before the date set for the hearing or
appear and make objection thereto at the
meeting above set forth.
SCOPE OF WORK
Performs general security at the Waste
Management Site. Some of the duties
include securing premises by checking
buildings and perimeter; making sure all
gates and access points are secured;
monitoring control equipment by watching
computer displays; monitoring security
cameras; reacting to alarms by initiating
appropriate procedures as defined in
Waterloo Waste Management Security
Services Booklet (guards will be trained
by Waste Management); answering
phones; filing online electronic reports
logging every action they do; accepting
call -ins from Waterloo Water Works.
CONTRACT PERIOD
The contract will be for 3 years with
additional optional extension of 2 years.
Further extensions will be for 1 -year
periods and require the City's and the
contractor's mutual approval of the
extension. The City might be open to
negotiate a different length of contract if
proven beneficial to the City.

All bids must be submitted on forms
supplied by Waste Management Serv-
ices......
