R, ASSURANCES IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAME .

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City Council of
trie-- - ty of Waterloo, Iowa, to avail itself of financial
assistance through the Community Development Block Grant Program
Supplemental Funds for Infrastructure Disaster Recovery as
administered by the Iowa Department of Economic Development;
WHEREAS, the City is seeking assistance for Construction of
Storm Water Lift Station projects (commercial and residential) ,
in an attempt to repair damage caused by the Floods of 2008 as
well as mitigate future damage to the City' s infrastructure;
WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant applications
best address the urgent needs of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, as follows :
1 . The Community Development Block Grant applications are
hereby approved.
2 . The Mayor is hereby designated as the official
representative of the City and is further hereby
directed and authorized to affix his signature to said
applications and certain Federal and State assurances
in conjunction with same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of July, 2009 .
